The Michiana Steelheaders Special Athletes Outing

Since 1983, the Michiana Steelheaders have sponsored a Special Athletes Outing for Michiana area agencies, such as Logan Center, ADEC (Association for the Disabled of Elkhart County), Cass County Home (Michigan) and Open Door Center of Niles. The Steelheaders provide a day of fishing on Lake Michigan for clients, staff and chaperones of the agencies, followed by a picnic and entertainment. All Special Athletes and the captains of the boats who take them fishing, receive an event hat and T-shirt. The Athletes come back year-after-year and ask for their boat captain by name. Some Special Athletes tell us it is the best day of their year, and the only time they can go fishing. Don't be afriaid to sign up today to help at the 2008 Special Athletes Outing!!!
