The Michaiana Steelheaders want to promote citizen effort for protection, preservation and sport utilization of anadromous fish (fish ascending streams and rivers to spawn) wherever they may be. We are a non-profit organization, founded in 1975. The club is a great way to meet new friends and fellow fishermen.

June 20, 2009 Perch Tourney Postponed
The annual Michiana Steelheaders Perch Tournament was set for June 20, 2009, but has been postponed. The new tournament date is set for July 18, 2009 with a blow date of July 19, 2009.
July 25, 2009 Starboard Choice Challenge
The annual Michiana Steelheaders Starboard Choice Challenge Tournament is scheduled for July 25, 2009. There will be prizes for everybody! Last year was a huge success! Come on out and fish this 3rd Annual Event!!! The event is sponsored by Starboard Choice Marine.
June 13, 2009 Youth Tourney
Congradulations to Marcus Gunderson for winning the 2009 Michiana Steelheaders Youth Tournament! Marcus weighed an awesome 17.70 pound Lake Trout to win the event. Second place went to Luke Glover with a 11.75 pound King Salmon. Third place was followed closely by Morgan Smith weighing a 10.45 pound King. There were 46 kids that weighed fish at the event with over 70 entered in the event. Mother nature did not cooperate in the event with periods of rain and wind, causing conditions tough for fishing. A special thanks to all the sponsors of the event, without you we could have not pulled it off! A special thanks to Andy Baker for heading up the event and doing a fantastic job! Also, a special thanks to everyone that helped out and volunteered with the event! The results are posted under "Tournaments," pictures will be posted in the near future and also in an upcoming newsletter.

The second club tournament of 2009 was a tough bite! There were only 9 of 20 boats that weighed their 5 fish for the tournament. Top honors went to Capt. Steve Peterson and crew of "Steel-N-Time" with a total weight of 48.60 pounds.
Second place went to team "Catch 22" with Capt. Mike Larson and crew! They had a total weight of 38.00!
Congratulations to team "Break-Time!!" with Capt. Jim Bellman and crew for finishing in third place with 34.30 pounds!! Great job everyone!
